It’s going to take a while to sink in I am sure, but yesterday was my last with IBM and Disney. It’s hard to believe after five years, and while I welcome the change it is also a little sad.

I spent the week-end building up my new Quad Core based desktop. Even though most of my week-end has just blown by, I am really stoked that I have successfully completed my first PC build. Big thanks to Kwon for his recommendations on hardware and a couple of helpful tips when I was troubleshooting some problems. Of course I did help him rebuild his bicycle last year so I think it’s only fair.
I just got back from a ride with Sabrina and now I am updating all my software and transferring files. I must say it’s much nicer doing all of this while looking at this gorgeous 22′ screen :0) In fact this may well be enough to get me re-motivated to make more frequent updates of this here blog!

Mike Ward came through for me once more with the last minute hook up of some tickets to see Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals at the Chicago Theater Thursday night. What can I say it was simply an awesome show.
It was such an intimate show making the 7k plus theater feel more like 70. They played lots of beautiful new songs off of their Lifeline album. Apart from the great seats he scored us on the main floor center about twenty rows back, he also hooked us up with backstage passes for the after party. It was really nice to catch up with Mike again and to see Ben Harper up close and Personal. There were a lot of people wanting to talk to Ben, and I will probably get another chance someday so I was content to just hang back a bit. I tried to get some pix, but this Camera in the Pearl is not all that it’s cracked up to be (although some of it was due to user error). Next time I will bring my real camera instead.
